The New York State Outdoor Writers Association is pleased to announce the launch of its new website. The NYSOWA, now in its 45th year, is a professional organization of writers, editors, artists, photographers, broadcasters, telecasters, lecturers and others, as well as industry supporters of its goal to increase public awareness, understanding and appreciation of our outdoor heritage and the use and enjoyment of our natural resources. The primary purpose of the organization is to improve knowledge and skill among its members in the art of communication.
The new NYSOWA’s website, will enhance the organization’s ability to communicate with its general membership, the public, prospective new members and its supporting membership in the outdoor industry.
“I’m excited about the new NYSOWA website, because it will help our organization and its membership better communicate all the exciting projects we are all involved in throughout the state and nationally,” stated NYSOWA President Glenn Sapir. “As professional communicators, it’s important that we put our message in front of as many people as possible. A well-organized, up-to-date website is crucial to meeting that objective.”
Built by NYSOWA member Sue Bookhout, the website offers simplicity, yet it also provides flexibility for future growth. The organization will use the site to post member news, NYSOWA event details, contests for communicators and business opportunities, press releases from supporting members and conservation news from the state of New York. The site can stream video clips from member events and is a gateway to the NYSOWA Facebook page.
