Member Spotlight – Scott Faulkner of the NYS Outdoorsman Hall of Fame
Scott Faulkner of the NYS Outdoorsman Hall of Fame
The New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame (NYSOHOF) was organized in 1983 to seek out and honor those individuals who not only have exhibited genuine excellence in hunting, fishing, trapping, and related outdoor sports but have demonstrated sincere and continuing dedication to natural resources conservation. These individuals are honored “not for what they have taken, but for what they have given.”
The NYSOHOF promotes, above all, the philosophy that it is the responsibility of all sportsmen to consistently give to their respective sport as well as receive. It is our belief that general acceptance of this philosophy is the only assurance that future generations may also appreciate the beauty of our lakes, streams, fields, and forests. Therefore, the measure of our success shall be the example we set for others.
Every February the board of directors reviews the nominations and deliberates over the submitted information and documentation to select those they feel are worthy of the designation. Men and women are carefully selected for induction into the Hall of Fame based on their significant contributions to preserving our outdoor heritage, enhancing opportunity, or supporting the causes of conservation and outdoor sports. Selection for this distinguished group is not based on individual achievements, but rather on what they have done for others.
This year, those selected for induction will be honored at the Annual Induction Banquet to be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Theodore’s Restaurant in Canastota, NY. A copy of their induction plaques will be added to the over 300 plaques that are housed at the Wildlife Sports and Educational Museum in Vails Mills, NY.
The New York State Outdoorsmen Hall of Fame is proud to be a supporting member of the New York State Outdoor Writers Association. http://nysohof.org
