Member Spotlight: Past President, turkey man, and author Mike Joyner
I own a tech company and earn most of my living as a CMOS image sensor layout engineer and PCB design engineer. After eleven years of publishing the newsletters for the NY NWTF State Chapter and the local Syracuse chapter, I wrote my first turkey hunting stories book in 2005.
I have written eight books since then, along with logbook/journals for hunters to use for their own note taking. Three more books are in review and due out in the next several months, along with two large book projects nearing completion and hope to complete this year.
I write a blog as a freelancer for my own websites that is sometimes syndicated and focus much of my musings on turkey hunting and conservative commentary. I hail from East Homer NY and enjoy a comfortable log home down in the turkey woods with my bride, Lee, of twenty-four years.
Just recently elected as board member at large. Past President, and past Western Region VP
I became a member in 2006. The greatest benefit for me has been the camaraderie and fellowship at the conferences and spring/fall safaris. Wonderful events to make lifelong friends. As a writer that comes from outside the traditional paths of academia as an English major, or as a working professional in the writing industry, I have learned so much from the other members over the past twenty years.
